A new year for me always brings reflection on the past year and about what things I did right and what I would like to change. One of the things I haven’t been happy with in the past year is the level of service I’ve been able to provide. My schedule has changed a lot in 2010 leaving me with less time to dedicate to Lovebug and I finally came to the realization I was spreading myself too thin. Instead of doing less and doing things right I was going for quantity and not quality. So it’s time to simplify and get back to quality.

What does that mean for the blog? It means that this will be the last post. The blog has been very neglected over the last year and it’s time to let it go. We will dedicate more of our time and energy to the forum and store which has always been the true Lovebug. We hope you will all join us over there!

“12 Days of Christmas” at Lovebug!

It’s that time of year again, where thoughts of Christmas cloud nearly everything else. And here at Lovebug we can’t wait to jump into the Christmas spirit. So, we have put together a fun event for you all to enjoy. Not only is there a chance to win some fabulous prizes, there is also the chance to cross a couple things off your Christmas to-do list as you create projects that can easily be used as Christmas gifts as well!!! Or maybe just decor for your own house.

It’s the 12 days of Christmas here at Lovebug so that means between November 18th and November 30th, we’ll be creating our way through 12 layouts and 12 projects. At the end of it all, you’ll have 12 days to complete the challenges in order to earn entries to win some fabulous prizes.

Have you been BOO-ed??

We thought we’d have some more Halloween fun and spread some good cheer around at the same time. The Lovebug team has sent out some “Boo’s” – check your email to see if you are one of the lucky ones!

If you have been Boo’ed perhaps you’d like to join in the fun and Boo someone else. Make sure to check their profile in the forum to see if they have already been Boo’d and don’t forget to add this blinkie to your siggy.

If you would like your Boo to remain a secret just let me or one of the Lovebug team members and we can take care of the delivery for you.

Some FAQ’s:

**What exactly is a Boo?
– a small gift certificate to the store intended to put a smile on someone’s face

**Must I Participate?
– No it’s strictly voluntary. You should not feel obligated to go out and “BOO” somebody because you have been Boo-ed. Some people don’t pass it on, others may choose to Boo more than just one. What you do is up to you. It is all in good fun and should not be a burden.

**How will someone know they’ve been Boo’d?
– Add this message with your Boo (the ghost can also be found in the forum)

If you wish to make this a happier fall, continue this greeting, this phantom call.
First, post this Ghost on your profile where it can be seen, and leave it there until Halloween.
This will scare other Phantoms who may visit. Be sure to participate, you don’t want to miss it!

**How much should I “Boo”?
– It can be any amount you want! It’s all just for fun

**Who should I “Boo”?
– Anyone! Everyone likes to get a little unexpected surprise and it feels good to make someone’s day

**How do I send a “Boo”?
– If you already have a credit on your account you can email it just like sending any gift voucher. If you don’t have a credit to use then purchase a gift certificate through the store and once it’s been released and is on your account you can send it.

If you want to remain anonymous then you can email it to any team member and they will take care of the delivery for you. I know someone who could really use a “Boo” but I can’t send one right now – can you? Send me the person’s name and email address and why you think they could use a “Boo” and we’ll see if we can find a Ghost to cheer them up!

Lovebug Hallowe’n/Costume Party Crop

The next Lovebug event will be beginning on Monday, October 18th and will wind up on the 31st just in time for all the party-goers to arrive! The event will revolve around party preparation, costumes, candy indulging and wind up at the party. I can’t divulge too many details lest you all figure out what is hiding in my crazy little mind. I can tell you that it will be a big event – 2 weeks long and will have at least 10 challenges (likely more); lots of prizes; some games; and even a few surprises along the way.

If you know you want to scrap and have some fun, you know where you need to be starting October 18th!!! One detail I will point out will be that anyone who brings a new person to Lovebug who participates in the crop, will automatically earn a special prize directly from me! As long as your new person hasn’t been on Lovebug before and completes at least 3 challenges, you will receive your prize. Just be sure they post in the sign-up thread and tell me that you sent them. Easy peasy!

And as a note to those who do not celebrate Halloween, this doesn’t have to be a Halloween themed scrap-a-thon for you. Just think of it as a costume party and during the crop, ignore my wording references to Halloween. That way everyone can join in the fun without feeling like they are giving Halloween more attention than it deserves.

Soooooooo, who’s in?

It’s World Card Making Day!! Oct 2nd

It’s a special for all the card makers/scrappers around the world to create handmade cards, share time with friends and maybe get a start on some holiday cards.

Us Lovebugs are planning a day of SUPER card inspiration — from sketches, to color challenges and everything in between.

We’ll be posting these challenges early Saturday morning — print them off and spend the day working on them. Maybe invite a friend to drop by and scrap with you! Just have fun — THIS holiday is all about you and your fabulous hobby

Drop by the forum on October 2nd, 9AM est. Challenges are due Monday, October 4 at 9AM est. Of course, expect some surPRIZES during the day!
